Hey guys, as some of you know I have a Verney-Caron on order in CCH. I did not think the VC guns used--bone and Char type CCH. I was told at one time that the steel they used in their actions did not color case well--thats whey most guns were French Gray or Coin finished. I thought they used/ Chemical Color Case--Would love to see it when it is done! Ed DRSS Member | |||

My VC is coin finished. If it were chemical case coloring I wouldn't want it, isn't that what Ruger puts on their pistols that wears off real easily? I can't imagine VC would use a cheap process like that. Some here in the past claimed that VC uses cast receivers and parts and that wasn't true so hopefully Ken will weigh in on this issue. | |||

Not all steel CCH well. I remember talking to someone--and they told me VC uses steel that did not CCH well. Chemical colors dont look bad if done well--just different. Chemical colors seem to wear faster though. Ed DRSS Member | |||

Yes, it is a Greener in 360No.2 It is redone but done very well. There is a VC on Griffin & Howe's site. The colors look dark - not sure if they are all like that though. | |||
