I had been following the double rifle shoot for years on the forum. Decided to go this year. Had a great time and met a bunch of really good folks. Jim and Joyce (Frostbit) put me up for a couple of days. They were wonderful hosts. Took me to a world class restaurant. I'm definitely going next year and looking forward to a meal at Jen's.

Dave,
It was our pleasure, you were fun company. As for Jen's Restaurant I couldn't agree more. Best restaurant in town bar none.
Charlie,
I think the "Orka Cafe" did OK. The Moose stew disappeared and the Jalapena Cheese Dogs also. You never really know how many folks will show up for these events and this year was definitely a record year but I don't think anyone went hungry.
I've been checking the obits and I haven't seen any uptick in deaths from food poisoning although Cal has gone silent.

Cheers

cal pappasHere are a few more pics of the shoot.

If you look very VERY closely at our for sale table. Jim Wojo's .450 is on the open case. Note the rear sling eye. To (hopefully) increase the value, Jim has placed a WalMart key ring in the eye. Why? I don't know. Perhaps the hunters in the
Victorian Era did this for reasons lost to history and time.
The faces of excitement tell volumes of the shoot.
Jonathan feels the bite of Cal's 8-bore Locke.
A bit of range action.
I hope to see you all next year.

Simple trick I borrowed from the collector car circuit. That rifle is now a one of one.

Looking forward to next year. Will it be May 5th?

Cal, when does the spring black bear season open? If it is open in may, I might combine your shoot with a spring season black bear hunt and a little fishing after the shoot is over!

cal pappasBlack bear season will be in progress. Later in the year PM me and I'll send you the new regulations. Black bears (and grizzly, too) are in my front yard but the blacks don't grow much larger than a big dog in my area.
Shoot is May 5, 2018.

cal pappasEveryone is welcome. We'll feed you and do our best to stay with us. We can direct you all to fishing or black bear hunting.
It is my (and the other gents, too) pleasure to assist.
Several good fishing streams in my area.

The Cassiar is a beautiful and remote drive as well.
