Having handled several of the Sabatti 450 rifles, I am considering making a purchase. Of the 3 I have handled the triggers felt like they would need work on 2 of those rifles. Who would you send a Sabatti 450 to for trigger work? Many Thanks HBH

I don't own one. I have shot one in 450/400 3 inch. Both the owner and I both thought the triggers needed some work. Rusty We Band of Brothers! DRSS, NRA & SCI Life Member "I am rejoiced at my fate. I haven't purchased one yet. Was wondering if anyone has had the triggers gone over yet. Would the trigger mechanics be any different than any other A&D type action? Does anyone know how the barrels and ribs are joined? Is it safe to assume they are soldered? Many Thanks HBH

Not sure if this will help, but when my Chapuis needed a "trigger job" I contacted Dale Nyguard and returned it to him. He has a local guy who did a superb job and it was returned within 2 weeks. Cost about $100 plus shipping both ways. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I would think that any good trigger man could do it. Filing the sear should take the same talent on any gun...right??? ND Stephen Grant 500BPE Joseph Harkom 450BPE

Guys, Thanks for the help here and the PMs! I am still stewing on it. The Michigan guys made a strong case for the German products several weeks back. It looked like a Heymfest with a couple of K guns for good measure. Many Thanks HBH

HBH I live in Aus so can't help with a good smith, although the other guys have posted the usual high quality suspects in the US. I simply want to support your suggestion on trigger work. I have a lovely Chapuis 9.3x74 which went 5 and 7 pounds front rear. Our local double rifle guru (gunsmith) sorted mine to go 3 and 3.5 front rear and has transformed the utility of my rifle. Definately get the work done when you buy. Cheers
