Any advice on loads for a Chapuis .470? I've seen this one: 108 grains IMR4831, 500 grain Woodleigh soft nose, F215 primer. Any others out there that are recommended? Thanks "Sleep When You're Dead!"

Yes that is a load that could work, but I would never start at the max right off, start lower, shoot over a chrono and work your way back up,each rifle is different, what works for one might not work for another. DRSS

I use IMR 4350. I tested loads from 96gr. to 106gr. and found 102gr works best in my Chapuis .470 When the buffalo are gone we will hunt mice, for we are hunters, and we want our freedom---Sitting Bull .470 Chapuis double; 9.3x74R Mathelon triple; 30-06 Winchester O/U

Do you have to use filler with the IMR 4350 powder? ....Mac >>>===(x)===> MacD37, ...and DUGABOY1 DRSS Charter member "If I die today, I've had a life well spent, for I've been to see the Elephant, and smelled the smoke of Africa!"~ME 1982 Hands of Old Elmer Keith
