After having tested out 400 and 410 grain loads in my K gun and found them all to group well I was wondering if anyone have tried 450 grain Woodleighs? They will move slower (-200 fps) and I am thinking they will spread horisontally in guns regulated for faster 410 grainers. The price on the bullets is similar and I have always liked heavy for caliber bullets... Experiences and thoughs before I order 50 to test?

Since the 500/416 factory ammunition is designed to be used in double rifles for which it was designed, like the Krieghoff, I'm sure the designers took regulation into account when they made it. I would expect it would meet the regulation standards of the 400 and 410gr loads.

Ok, only problem now is finding load data for it. I am loading 410 grainers with 109 grain H1000. 450 grain should I start off at around 104 grains and work up? Was thinking I should be able to get around 2200 fps? Any advice?

Norsk, I suspect you are going into largely uncharted waters with that bullet in the 500/416. You might want to contact Geof at Woodleigh for info. If anyone has it, he probably knows about it. 465H&H7
