Lane,
Ive never owned a Merkel but Ive shot a lot of them, and everyone I shot was incredibly accurate and I like the way they point and handle..Nice guns for a great price..

I loaded my Searcy .470 down to 2020 FPS from the Butches 2145 FPS, both accurate loads, but the 2020 FPS killed just as well and recoil was a LOT less, so a .500 should be just that much better.

I just loaded my gun to regulation then checked velocity.
