That was a good read as you experienced owners and shooters must already know. But us newbies should be reminded to get the book. I don't have one of the included calibers but there was a wealth of information in the book. Re regulation and loading, how to sight in, and hold the gun, all and more. You might want to look at Huntington's as Midway says there are no more of the second printing. Good luck. Packrattusnongratus

As a newby to the DRSS, I agree. Just got my copy from Abe's Books a week or so ago. Been pouring over it for the past several days. It's a wealth of info. -Steve -------- www.zonedar.com If you can't be a good example, be a horrible warning DRSS C&H 475 NE --------

This book is getting much harder to find !!I bought the last 6 copies from Huntingtons for friends. If this book can't help you get your Double shooting right then your gun is probably not EVER going to shoot right!!

How much different is the second edition from the first edition, and what has changed? Dave One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas I'll never know. - Groucho Marx

I don't have comparisons but Mr. Wright could sell another printing without new information. It is a thorough book with information from lots of experienced folks included. Packy

Went back and checked this evening. First edition was late '80s and second was 1999. Chief differences are that, in the second edition, there is more load development information with a broader selection of powders and more detail on techniques. Also, there are more and more detailed pressure data. Further, there are two new chapters, one on possible barrel damage and the other on loading for paradox guns. Finally, there is a broader citation of and cross-referencing to the works of others, including Ross Seyfried. In short, it's the later, more complete and better of the two editions so far published. Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.
