I’m thinking this would be nice as my next DR, as I need a stopper rifle:

Unless that's a different rifle, someone had it listed for sale at $200,000!

The rifle is exquisite I've handled it a few times, I was fortunate to have known Milan(original owner). I kick myself in the ass for not shooting it when I had the chance.

Miss hearing his stories of Africa! I recall him telling me he had taken over 80 elephants in his lifetime, he really liked to hunt with Buzz.

A quote from the Hal Roach "Our Gang" movies is appropriate for your feeling: "You said a mouth full Spanky"

Well, both sites mention the same price.

What I want to know is why the case has Holland & Holland trade label. Also, where was the rifle made? It seems Makinson moved to Canada in 1982

I guess Mark Sullivan would be the obvious answer. Other people might take the rifle against that possibility but Mark used to go looking for it. IIRC, he used a Holland & Holland, though.
