hey jeff..
Most German shotguns(Simson, Merkel, Sauer of period were all pressurerized to 800Bar. I have had a few myself. When steelshot were enforced, and leadshot banned overhere, many hunters were concerned if their shotgun could take the steelshot shells which produced up to 1200-1400bar pressure. Today we know, the german shotguns can shoot the steelshot, if the choke is not "full".
Are you thinking about making up a doublerifle..?? The german actions(Suhlaction with Greenerbite) should be well suited, since they use the same action for shotgun and doublerifle.

jeffeossothanks guys!!
Elmo "skinny chicken over N" is so LOL perfect
Jens, Lee, .. yep, I am going to try again.. my first one didn't turn out great (lol) but it shot and both barrels could hit a pie plate at 60 yards... LOL, even the same pieplate with the same point of aim...
I learned alot from take 1, and perhaps take two will be much better

lee440I looked it up and it has standard nitro proofs from the Kiel proof house. The Eagle over N means normal proof, not forced proof which is for 3" mag loads. The GK appears to be the date code for 1969. I cannot make out the round mark top right, and I can find no pictures that look enough like it to guess.
