Here is a recent photo of the 26" barrels on the 450/400. Herr Helbig on the left and Herr Schlembach on the right. Both began working at HEYM in 1977.

An NIB double rifle chambered in 450/400 3 inch with proper 26" barrels! Life is good! Awesome Chris! I know you have worked very hard to bring this project to the manufacturing stage! 9.5 lbs is purdy good for having 26 in. barrels. Now only if those heymees were a few grand cheaper... Thanks. "Sometimes nothing can be a pretty cool hand." 470 Heym; 9.3x74r Chapuis, Heym 450/400 on it's way

Anyone not "stuck" on vintage really aught to look at these for an all around rifle. 210 grn pistol bullets, 265 grainers from Cast Bullet Performance, 300 grainers from Hornady and 400 grainers from a handful of firms. Only the .458 caliber shooters have more choices, but they pay the price of a heavier rifle and or more recoil. Jack OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}

I SS, The Heym in 500 NE will likely be sub 10.5 pounds. There are 470's out there at 9 lbs and so many ounces! RECOIL with full power loads will not be apprec- iated by little girls, [like ME]. It WILL be nice carry- ing, and I guess you can work up/use light loads for practice and smaller than Cape Buff game... The weight to me, begs to be coupled with the .41 caliber.
