Here is a recent photo of the 26" barrels on the 450/400.



Herr Helbig on the left and Herr Schlembach on the right.

Both began working at HEYM in 1977.

9.5 lbs is purdy good for having 26 in. barrels. Now only if those heymees were a few grand cheaper... Wink Thanks.

Anyone not "stuck" on vintage really aught to look at these for

an all around rifle. 210 grn pistol bullets, 265 grainers from

Cast Bullet Performance, 300 grainers from Hornady and 400

grainers from a handful of firms. Only the .458 caliber shooters

have more choices, but they pay the price of a heavier rifle and
or more recoil. dancing

The Heym in 500 NE will likely be sub 10.5 pounds.

There are 470's out there at 9 lbs and so many ounces!

RECOIL with full power loads will not be apprec-

iated by little girls, [like ME]. It WILL be nice carry-

ing, and I guess you can work up/use light loads
for practice and smaller than Cape Buff game... patriot

The weight to me, begs to be coupled with the .41 caliber.
