Just started relaoding for my .300 Win Mag and 9.3x74R. Great success with the .300 loads and am very encouraged.

Problem with the 9.3x74R for my Shapis DR. I've been loading 286 gr Hornady SP/RP and 286 gr Nosler Spitzers.

They both shoot VERY low compared to any factory loads I've shot.

What, in general, changes should be made to a load for a DR to make it shoot higher?

if you have a "nice group".., "something you're happy with", just raise the rear sight....

No, I don't have a nice group.

I suppose what I'm asking is: "What loading variables does one play with to move the POI around?"

Or is it all trial-and-error?

my regulation load is 65 gr of H4831 with either 286 or 300 gr bullet
