Like many of you, I've visited the V-C booth (and Ken) at Dallas Safari Club. Increasingly, I really liked the feel of their rifles as, over the years, they seemed to trim up some and become more "handy".

I very much cottoned to a 9.3x74R Ken had last year at the show. After an inquiry and a consultation with Jerome , It was decided that a .375 H&H Flandged could be made on the same frame.

Well, I took the plunge.

I'm excited. Today, my .375 H&H Flanged Magnum is shipping to my FFL. I was fitted in Dallas and finally ordered it in March or so. It is a round body and is fitted with QD mounts and a scope and regulated with Norma 300 grain factory ammo. I expect it will shoot well with the iron sights, too.

For several months I've been buying ammo for the rifle. Hopefully, it will arrive on Friday so I can shoot it and take it to a deer stand this weekend.

Just had to tell somebody! I'll be sure to post pictures when it gets here!

Judge, those VC small frame round body doubles are something special. I'm sure it will be everything you desired.

Judge I am looking forward to seeing it and the results of your shooting it.

Any idea of weight? A 375Fl Mag on a slim action sounds ideal to me.

Cheers, Chris

Well, the anticipation was worth it.
The case coloring is wonderful, the checkering perfect, it comes to the shoulder perfectly with iron sights and almost as well with the scope and the weight is less than 10 pounds with the 30mm scope.

I'm on the way to the deer lease right now... 6 bucks on the camera yesterday. None of any size, but my new V-C doesn't care.

I took the below pictures with my cell phone, so please excuse the quality. I'll get better ones later. The wood on the right side is feathered well compared to the left, btw. The fore end is a true splinter-style. Exactly what I ordered.

Look at the last picture. It is a delicate lady with a great big punch!

Well executed Ernest. To look at the picture (of the full rifle) it looks almost like a 9.3x74R, and to me that is a compliment. It means that the rifle looks trim, svelte and well proportioned, particularly with the longer barrels. Congrats and hope it brings you many years of fond memories in the field.

With the new acquisition, I now have three double rifles that, at least to me, are very useful.

1. Sabatti .45/70 that (fortunately) works. Big Grin
I use it for walking around my lease shooting the occasional stupid deer and the always stupid wild hogs.

2. The above pictured .375 H&H Flanged Magnum which I'll use some for local deer, African plains game and, perhaps, buffalo... it being elephant capable if necessary.

3. A Wonderful .500 N.E. Searcy Classic that shoots better than I can aim and which fits like a good glove. Can't wait to go elephant hunting again!

I really need to sell some of my bolt guns, I guess. Alas.

Ernest: That really is a nice looking rifle...trim, too. I hope it does what it was built to do and fells a buck for you this weekend. See you soon.

What scope is that?

Looking forward to more photos and a hunt report.

Good hunting.

Ken (www.kebcollc.com) said he will have a .450/.400 that is very similar to my .375 on display at the shows.

Last year at the Verney-Carron booth, when I was fitted for my rifle by Jerome (and discussing how small it could safely be) the possibility of a petite .450/.400 was mentioned. Jerome was willing, so... Ken ordered one to display this year, it was built, received in the same shipment as mine... and Ken says that it is just as great as my little sweetheart.

While it won't fit in my plans, a .450/.400 would be pretty great for a one double kind of guy, huh? I think two folks have already be by Ken's business, and upon seeing the rifle, have ordered one. Must be something special, too!

Ken show us that 450/400, maybe it must take a plane ride to Sweden.

Judge, a stunning rifle in a great caliber! I can see a moose or two tip over with that rifle!

Never thought much about it, but Sweden could be a great hunter-husband/wife-sightseer trip. Beautiful, beautiful land and some big game.

Not that I need an excuse to come to Sweden with my lady, but with the V-C double being an excellent incipient moose tipper, I'll have to see what available. A few days hunting for me and Sweden's wonders for my wife a week or so more.. I need to look into that.

Very Nice Ernest, congrats. Hated to hear you weren't coming up here this weekend with Butch, David and company. You could have brought that beauty, and we could have gone and shot our 2 new VC's one afternoon.

A proper looking rifle Judge. Love the splinter. They are finally getting it to the correct proportions. Listening to the clientele unlike many of today's makers.

Judge: That may be the ugliest thing I've ever seen, but since you're a nice guy, & I've bought guns from you in the past, & you seem to be wanting to take Sandy to Sweden (& that can't be cheap), I'll help you out and take that off your hands. Just send it up & let me know what the damage is.

Judge - check out the thread by Malek. Midway has Nosler 375 Flanged Magnum ammo on sale at about $67 a box - this is loaded ammo with 300 gr Nosler solids. I bought 2 boxes myself this morning - I think they had 8 left when I ordered.
