I still have 40 pieces of brand new Jamison brass and about 34 rounds of Norma African PH soft and solid ammo though no longer have the Merkel or any 500NE. Hi guys, Thanks so much for the words of encouragement. I've certainly wanted to own one of these rifles for a few years, and finally decided to make the plunge! I shot it for the first time tonight, and I was very pleased, I was hitting about a 4-5 inch group for all the shots I placed, with the barrels producing 2-3 inch groups... from off hand, at 25 yds. Considering I've never shot a 500, and this is only my 2nd time to shoot a double I was very pleased.  I can see how this will be addicting, this is all I needed, another forum to check in addition to african, and all the others that haunt me! | |||
