A bit hard to find the correct forum - let's try this one.
Does anyone here have such a take-down gun bag that can take the gun when in two pieces (short) but that can in one way or the other be extended in such a way as to accommodate the rifle when "long" in one piece?
If so, what make and model is it? If custom made, could you be kind enough to supply a photo or tow for me to get an idea as to how to about having one made.

You see, usually when traveling one carries the gun in two and thus a short bag will do. My hunting tens to be of such type that you pack the rifle in the car many times a day, and it's then more convenient just to stick the gun there "long" w/o taking it apart every time. Carrying just one extendable bag instead of two, one long and one short, would seem handy to me.

Just buy a case longer that what you need. Fold it in half when the gun is broken down and then unfold it when the rifle is put togetherSmiler The longer case will give you the extra length to "bend" the case. I would suggest a long Boyts canvas case.
Have a couple of snaps or straps added to hold the halves together when using it for the rifle broken down.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I'm picturing it...
Would be nice if that case had openings at both ends.

Boyt makes a zippered long gun case with a buckled side pocket for an extra barrel set.

This would work well, I think.

I have one but use it as intended, carrying an extra set of differently choked barrels in the side pocket.

Would work for a shotgun or double rifle without scope.
