He stands and holds the .500 NE like he thinks he’s shooting an air rifle. Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

Pulled the back trigger first could that have been a cause for the doubling ?
|

He hunts with a 577 Watson bros himself so he is used with the recoil not 500x2 recoil

He makes no attempt to control the recoil. As said above, technique would just about be ok with a pcp air rifle, but he would get battered by a 410 shotgun, let alone a 12!

Put it on slow motion on YouTube. After have seen it I would say Saeeds friends seem to have it easier at his place holding the t-rex.

Apparently people don't read the previous comments he regularly hunts with a 577 Nitro!

Guessing if he wasn't awake before that, he was after. Set trigger on the K-gun got me once last year, first time i'd used it in a long while, forgot how light it was, as in, do not touch until aimed and ready. His .577 is the 650/90 grain version.. I would love to see him shooting my 10,5 pound .500 Jeffery..

And he’s scared of the rifle. See the flinch? I'm what you call your basic famous.

Watched a friend shoot a Merkel over under in 416 Remington mag. Before we could stop him he put a finger on each trigger causing it to double. He was impressed with the recoil.

While shooting with Cal, my 8 bore doubled. Never figured out exactly why (second hammer never fell, stalking safety was on). But the recoil was impressive. Turned me all the way around and almost came out of my hands. Only Angels and Aviators have wings

I've never doneTHAT! I've only doubled an 8 bore when Cal wasn't there. (my fault too, weak grip and strummed the rear trigger) DRSS "If we're not supposed to eat animals, why are they made out of meat?" "PS. To add a bit of Pappasonian philosophy: this single barrel stuff is just a passing fad. Bolt actions and single shots will fade away as did disco, the hula hoop, and bell-bottomed pants. Doubles will rule the world!"

It made for a short day as I think it was only the 2nd or 3rd time we’d shot and the first time we were shooting connicals, and only the 4th or maybe 6th shot. We went and got lunch becuase I was feeling light headed from the blow Only Angels and Aviators have wings

Doubling is NOT FUN!! After one of our friendly Eastern Oregon double shoots, a few of us wandered back to an isolated range away from the crowd to shoot Howdahs and a 577 H&H ROYAL one of our friends had used in competition!! He shoots it like a small bore!! First the Howda owner fired it at Clay targets up on the berm. My turn, I loaded 2 rounds of 750/100 loads. I intentionally pulled the rear trigger first to avoid slipping off the front and hitting the rear... IT DOUBLED!! WOW, it spun me around over 180 degrees and 2-3 steps back....I almost stepped on 2 Howdahs on a blanket behind...and almost pointing the Royal at its owner!! HOLY CRAP, WHAT HAPPENED??!! I didn't drop it... and I gently opened the action...both fired!! The recoil was HORRENDOUS!! Holland Royals are supposed to have interlocking sears to prevent doubling??!! Only conclusion, the rifle had been shot so much the interlocking sears were worn?? Often, big doubles are set with the front trigger light and the rear heavy in the event of a skip. If the rear trigger is pulled first, it can release the front trigger light sear!!... especially if worn!! I felt like I had been in a train wreck for a few days!! I will NEVER FIRE ANOTHER 577 AGAIN... regardless of maker!!... or if forced or emergency... only one round at a time!! I have never had any other double, DOUBLE!! WOW!! CheerZ, 470EDDY

Had my 470 NE double on me once. Never really knew why. Practicing shooting off sticks. My son was laughing his ass off at me. Not nearly the effect as this video.I am a bit bigger in stature than this gentleman. I can say it was a bit unexpected...WTF EZ

IME intercepting sears may handle a gentle jar, but very few will prevent doubling on recoil induced movement.

the harder a double kicks, the better to pull the back trigger first..Doubles double because you finger comes back in recoil and touches the rear trigger...The old addage that doubles are built to pull the front triggers first because the are regulated that way is pure rumor and basic BS, they shoot the same either way. Ive tested that on all my doubles and conversed with many makers who laugh at such trite and declare its an old wives tale..
