I just finished a short practice with my Merkel 500. I am now a happy CEB dealer and tried the BBW#13 570gr solids over 97gr RL-15. I haven't chronyed them yet but I can tell you my groups from both barrels at 35 yards are under 2" offhand with 15MPH winds. I can't shoot very good off hand either. At 50 yards I am stuggling to keep a 4" group, again offhand. This is much better results than I expected considering my eyesight and unsteadyness. Way better results than I was getting from the Barnes. Thanks guys for your patient assistance. I think this will be OK for elephant in Botswana next month.

Glad they worked out for you! Michael458 and Srose are the guys to thank however. I think they did quite a bit for the advancement of hunting bullets for all of us.

The thanks really goes to SRose, Michael458, and NFMike for all the testing, load-work, and bullet advancement they did (and continue to do). Tip-of-the-hat to them.

Thats the problem Dave, I'm getting to where I can't see. At least not without my reading glasses.
