I have always used one target when working up a load. I do mark each hole L1, R1 etc. Several members talk about using one target per barrel. Is there an advantage to his method? | ||

I've done both. Two targets are less cluttered and if you don't need to mark the first, second, etc., shots, then you just fire away and save some time. It is also easier to tell at loger distances the individual grouping. After Mac and Cal advised two targets and I found it very useful particularly at longer ranges where it might be more difficult to see and remember strike points. Also I think it's easier to get a feel for how each barrel is shooting. | |||

Thanks guys. I think I’m going to give it a shot (pun intended). I think I might experiment with a six o’clock hold on a circular target as well as the inverted triangle. Trying to get the most repeatable sight picture possible. | |||

WOW! The only way I can get my doubles to group that tight is to tape the target to the muzzles! Great shooting. If you are following the 12-second rule* and don't have someone calling your shots, using two targets makes a lot of sense. *ie where the regulation has been done assuming the second barrel will be fired while the first is still warm. | |||

I stick 2 aiming points about 8 inches apart on the target paper. Been using 2 inch self stick black dots. Going to try inverted triangles that I shamelessly copied from a previous post. Dave | |||
