No, it's not a double rifle, but anyone that appreciates doubles has to appreciate Paul Persinger's ivory grips on my FA '97... 45 Colt with ACP cylinder.

Anyone have a BBQ I can crash?

I've seen lots of grips, and Paul's work is second to none. Double guys have nice guns, and your handguns deserve nice grips.

Give Paul a call. Relatively quick turn-around, and spectacular work. He's a real pro.

I have a set of hand-fitted ivory grips from Paul Persinger on my USFA SAA 44-40 and they are perfect.

For my 1911's ivory I went with Nutmeg Sports at Nutmeg Sports Ivory
My scrimshawed grip is shown here...

I did not want to cut up my tusks so I had several pairs of ivory 1911 grips made from large Hippo teeth. Looks real sharp.

I went on his site and could not find any info on real ivory grips, just the artificial. Did I miss something?

I don't believe he's ever had a web-site.

I've got a Colt SAA that is crying for those grips. She was so embarassed last time I took her to the range with her plain-jane rubber factory grips (or it may have been my shooting).

Do you have any pictures you'd like to share? I'd like to see those if you don't mind.

I'm a sucker when it comes to ivory grips like those. Unfortunately, they're rather fragile and more suited for show than for manhandling. Also, they do cost an arm and a leg. I've chosen to take the middle road and settled for "look alikes" which are way not so pretty but stronger for sure.
