My 450/400 3 inch rifle is a 26" barreled A. Hollis and Son, proofed for 55 cord, circa 1910. I use RL-15 + 2 grains of Dacron Poly filler, Federal GM215BR Primers, 400 Grain Woodleigh Bullets in a BeLL case. I use a Chrony Beta Master. Mine regulates around 1950 FPS. If your double is an older Cordite regulated double please refer to this article Reloading the Nitro Express If I may be of any assistance, please contact me directly at rkmojo@aol.com Rusty We Band of Brothers! 67 grains RL 15, 1.5 grains Dacron fill, Bell case, Federal 215 primers, Woodleigh 400 grain Weldcore = 2,075 fps in my 26" barrels. Standard velocity for the .400 Jeffery of 2,125 fps was from 30" barrels. Late run Cordite runs 2,060 to 2,070 fps from 26" barrels, slightly slower from 24". ------------------------------------------------ "Serious rifles have two barrels, everything else just burns gunpowder." | |||
