Not exactly what first comes to mind when people think "double rifle" but I like it:

This is the Verona that CDNN is selling at firesale prices. Mine was the last 30-06 but they still have 308 and 223.

I bought it for the wife; she calls it jewelry that kills clap.

Got a couple of requests so here's the dope on these:

Express rifle, extractor only. Single trigger, non-selective. These are rifles first with a set of fitted 20 ga. barrels so I guess the thought is the first barrel to fire on a rifle should always be the one closest to the sights. Full length top rib with quarter rib and front ramp. The quarter rib has flush-fitted removable inserts for scope bases, fiber optic elevation adjustable front bead, drift rear standing leaf, no folding.

5 choke tubes: cyl, imp cyl, mod, imp mod and full. Full is stamped "no steel", the rest aren't.

Reinforced box lock action, coin finish with combination of machine and hand engraving, nicely done. Sculpted top fence. Nice, not too plain turkish walnut with well done machine checkering. Both forearms match the butt stock close enough for gov't work. I would compare the fit and finish the same as most machine-made guns like the Browning Competition 525, middle grade Berettas and the like. Probably a little better than Ruger Red Label. Only weak point is the checkering and I can point that up and make it look hand cut some day when I care enough to do it.

$2299 for the set, www.cdnninvestments.com

Congratulations on your new gun. 20 ga SGN and 30-06 bbls, sounds like a great combo to me.

Keep us posted on how she shoots.

If you want to shoot waterfowl, use either Bismuth or Federal Tungston[sp] Matrix.
Legal for waterfowl and safe in your gun.

Thanks. Unfortunately there was no manual in the box but I belive they mean no steel in the full choke only. I have a request to Rizzini for a a manual. Either way, I don't hunt much that requires steel and have a 12 ga for the rare occasion.

Another thing about these being rifles first and shotguns second; the comb is high enough for a scope and actually too high to mount well as a shotgun (for me, anyway). If I were serious about using it for both I think I'd rework the comb or have someone put an adjustable comb in it.

I would not shoot any steel shot in either bbl regardless of cjhoke.
Bismuth kills MUCH BETTER.

Get some big targets and pattern the SGN bbls.
The should come in very handy if there is feathered game in season the same time as furred game where you hunt.

Sure wish i has a ser of 20ga bbls for my Chapuis 9,3x74R.

But at least now I have my drilling.

Triggergate, I have an unfired Verona 20 ga shotgun I bpught when Cabella's opened their new store in Fort Worth, and at the time I didn't know they made a double rifle on that little shotgun. Now I wish I'd waited, but I got the shotgun dirt cheap at the OPENING"! I may see if I can send mine bact to fit the rifle barrels as well! Congratulations on you new double rifle! thumb

I am "on the road" right now.
I will try to call you this weekend, probably on Sunday as I should be in LA where I will have good cell phone service.

Will your Chapuis have a scope mount?

Mac, according to Rizzini these barrel sets are made to be interchangeble across the whole line like Contenders. If that is so, you can order a barrel set from Rizzini and it should fit your gun. They come in 7 x 65, 444 Marlin (can you believe that?!?), 9.3 x 74, 308, 30-06, 223, 8 x 57, and maybe one or two more.
