Found that 5 45 cal(really .44) round balls fit in my 45-100 case, with room for 2 felt wads cut from an old hat, and 21 gr of 4227. Anybody got an idea what velocity these might get me? The 4227 load is listed as light for a 405 gr 45-70, but higher than the 18 gr listed for a 410 max 3/4 oz shotgun load. The problem might be the total weight of the RBs comes to 600 gr! Yee-hah...

OOps! Only 4 45 cal roundballs fit in the case. Will try this load this weekend at the range. Should be interesting if somebody is spotting for me-won't tell them about the multiple ball load.
