I was taking some fish to a nice old couple that are friends of mine and I saw a gun sitting in the corner...he said it was (I think he said) Springfield Survival gun, .22 hornet top barrel, .410 bottom, looked like a tactical gun, and it held shells in the top of the buttstock . Does anyone know what this might be and where I can get one? Thanks for your help. You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose.....but you can't pick your friends nose!

Ray Those guns are sold by Springfield Armoury. The same folks that make the M1-A's. They also come in 22lr and .410. They also come in stainless steel. I have handled several over the years. They seem to be a quality made gun. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

Hi Ray, The org. model had a 14" bbl. and was parkerized. I saw one that a copter pilot brought back from Nam. I believe it is considered an NFA weapon though. it would be a nice collector's piece. I'm sure the new ones have a 16 or 18 inch bbl. and I think they are 410/22lr. only. I could be wrong though. They are really handy for what they are but the 410 kicks pretty bad for a young boy"s first gun. :^) bought my son one.
