I was driving down route 81 in West Virginia and got off at the Winchester Rd. exit. There, the owner of Naval Ordnance met me and I bought 26, yes twenty-six 4 BORE bullets. Two soft points and 24 full jackets!!!!! Jack OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}

BFJ, Do you mind me asking what the going price was? What are you planning on using them in. Any plans for a 4 bore project?

The price I was quoted was $7.00 per bullet, full jacket or soft point. But they are all spoken for now, as the London firm CHURCHILL is going to start making and marketing 4 BORE doubles. And of course, in Moscow Tn. Ken Owen has built about 6 so far I think, and he will continue I believe. Ed Hubel, a member here is working toward making available a falling block single bbl 4 bore for us "common" men. The target price is to be $2500.00 I would be a buyer when this comes to fruition. You can see some details on page 4 of the TWELVE GAUGE FROM HELL THREAD, which is into it's fifth page now. Jack OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}

Ken Owen said he will make more if someone is interested, but he will have to get more recievers made. The sixth one was the last one he still had on hand.

BFJ, I traded for a Searcy 700 nitro last Feb. This is my only other double to date. I do have several really big bore bolt guns too. I have been out shooting the 700 several times, but about 6 weeks after getting my 700, my 14 year old son died in an accident at home. So I have been dealing with that for what will be 9 months on Christmas day. He was my shooting buddy for the last 10 years. If I did not have this 4-bore to look forward too I think I would be cravy by now. At least it gets my mind off of Kyle for a few minutes every now and then.I am trying to get back into things some but it is really tough with the holidays. Kyle would have been 15 on Dec. 27th. I try to think of him being wiyh me when I go shooting, sometimes it works. What double are you thinking about?

My friend, You and Kyle's mom [if she's still alive] are dealing with more than anyone can imagine. I felt like I lost my breath reading of your family TRAGEDY. I have already said a little prayer for you all. I don't know why such things occure, but when they do, it is time for Christians to show what their belief is all about. You and your family must go on. You must... Are you any where near the Pennsy, New Jersey border at or north of Rt 78? If you are you can join a bunch of us AR members every so often for shooting dates? A good time is had by all. Nice big double rifles are the "main course". [not as big as yours! ] I have decide to try and chase down a SxS 450/400 3" that was built in the U.K. and has the Webley "screw-grip" action and wears 26" bbls and that weighs 10.5 pounds or less, really hoping for 9.5 pounds. Are you going to AFRICA? Jack OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}

Thanks for the kind words. My wife and I have 4 other children, ages 11 to 21. They are all dealing with it at their own pace in their own way,as are myself and Stacy. My 11 year old,Dana, still cries herself tp sleep everynight, alot of times I join her. I guess what hurts the most is that all my kids are hurting so much, and there is not alot I can do to ease their pain except tell them how much I love them and squeez them tight every night. There are alot of fine people over on nitro express that have helped me get through this some. The full story is posted undr big bores and named TRAGEDY. There is also access to his memorial website later in the post with lots of pictures and a spot to leave messages to kyle on it. I post undre the heading of Bigdog on nitro express site. I have no trips lined up to Africa yet, still working on paying for the 4-bore for a while. But.... some day I ...would love to go with either the 700 or the 4 bore. The original owner of the 700 has bagged one elephant with it. By the way, I live in southern Illinois.

Ken, I have just read the Nitro Express thread. KYLE is a HERO and a CHRISTIAN of the GREATEST CALIBER!!! So young to be mature enough to be an organ donor [we are too in my houshold], to understand the gift that he was offering. Truly an example to us all, young and old. And I might add, where did he get his teaching from, his direction from, his values from? FROM MOM AND DAD AND THE REST OF HIS DEAR FAMILY, THAT'S WHO!!!!!!!!!! My hat is off to you and your wife and your children who still remain in their mortal bodies. But to KYLE I drop to one knee and bow my head in deepest respect and gratatude for the lives he saved and the lives he improved. For a boy with his character most assuredly improved the lives of any and all who knew him. The Bible itself tells us that the greatest gift that we can give is to lay down our life for another. KYLE DID THIS AT THE TENDER AGE OF 14, AND NOT FOR THE SAKE OF ONE FRIEND OR BROTHER, BUT FOR THE SAKE OF FOUR STRANGERS!!!!!!!!!! You all must know he is a CHAMPION IN HEAVEN! He no longer shoots on Earth with you because he has joined ALMIGHTY CHRIST in the Heavenly Host. His existance is within a state of perfection and peace and complete joy. This is the promise that God gives to the believers in his Son, Jesus Christ. You and yours have every right to miss him. But be joyful for his GREATNESS! Do you know that the Bible promises us that believers sit on the Throne WITH CHRIST! Think of it, when KYLE was sitting right next to you and you felt his body's warmth, Right now, KYLE is sitting so close to CHRIST that they feel one anothers LIVING, Body WARMTH. It is true! Read the Bible end to end, it will uplift you tremendously. [Use the New American Standard UPDATED version, it's in modern English, the old English versions can easily confuse us today.] I am no church pastor, just a simple Christian believer, but I know the truth. KYLE LIVES, and LIVES in Greatest TRIUMPH and VICTORY and PARADISE! KYLE is safe for ever and ever, thank CHRIST. You and your family have a MERRY CHRISTMAS, I promise you all, KYLE WILL, and he wants you all to also!!!!! Jack OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}

Thanks Jack. I just got an update today and all 4 organ recepiants are doing great. That is a little good news for us. I agree with what you said about Kyle, and knowing where he is helps us but.... We still miss him every minute of every hour of every day! I guess that NEVER changes.

Butch Searcy builds 4 bore doubles also, here's one of the brass cases he had made. That's a 50 BMG case and 375 H&H cartridge for comparison.
