What a beauty, after all that testing with the 470 she's just not going to do it for you. I will swing by in the morning to pick her up. Don't waste your time, she just going to break your heart.

Mike have you shot your 450 400 through the test media ? The sd on the 400gr bullets are much higher than that of the 500 gr ( 470 or the 500 cal bullets )

One test with Woodleigh softs, still working on loads. The first results were nice. Several people have said how well the Woodys work in the 450-400.

Solids on order

This is going to be a fun little gun.

A little more information about the rifle.

I have been looking at this rifle since last August on Champlin's site and could not decide to buy it. I appreciate "watchman"'s patience with me and my indecisiveness.

The rifle is really great and will go to Africa next year, and maybe even this year.

Reloading and shooting has started and with a litte help from NE450No2 the loads are close to where they need to be.

Another thanks goes out to "big_bwana" for answering my call for reloading supplies. New brass, dies, snap caps, shellholder really helped get me started along with the brass watchman furnished with the rifle.

I still love my Krieghoff and this is a nice addition to the family.

Mike, baised on my 450/400 3 1/4" bullets recovered from bear, cape buff, and lion my Woodleigh bullets had a bigger "mushroom" and the lead was not near as chewed up.

1- To all with load info on this 450/400 3.25" caliber, please,
which filler are you using and how much?

2- If you want to use an L E Wilson case trimmer, most big
bores [those with 2.75 inch or longer brass] need to use the
50 BMG BASE, NOT the normal standard trimmer BASE. I
bought a standard trimmer which will work on mouths up to
465 NE [.490" outer diameter of mouth] but then had to buy
the longer base for $14.00, no big deal. If you are using 465
NE diam bullets and brass over 2.75 in. you'll be best served
to go with the 50 BMG trimmer all out. This will give you a
much bigger cutter and the longer base. You must send three
pieces of brass in the condition that you'll trim them to WILSON
to make you a custom case holder for this caliber and most
all of our traditional old calibers.

That Hardy board is tough on bullets.
