Just wanted to show a Merkel 141 with self installed scope mounts. The 141 is an 8x57JRS and the mounts are MAK pivot mounts by Kilic Feintechnik. They are available from www.kilic-feintechnik.de price was $520 something, I can't put my fingers on the invoice at the minute. They were easily installed in less than 15minutes. Required a little file work on one surface of the dovetail pivot base. Recieved the incorrect spacers for the rear base but upon notifying them they sent the correct spacer (2mm) by mail. All told less than 2 weeks from time of order using Visa to reciept of ALL parts required. They are neat mounts and remove and attach easily. Have no doubt they will return to zero perfectly. To order you should know what scope you will be using to get the correct height spacers for front and rear. They also make many other mount types and for most all firearms.Their rear base fit the base factory installed on my Merkel. Quality is of the highest. They also make offset front rings/pivots so you can mount almost any length scope. Their catalog is quite complete and in English also. Price list is in German I believe and all prices are in Euros. I apologize for the pictures, I'm just not very good at photographing guns.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! Nice looking rifle.
The 8x57 is a good calibre for NA game and most plains game.

The scope makes it a premier hunting rig IMHO.
