I just noticed that there is a tab for the new rising bite rifle on Butch's web site. If only I could afford such luxuries. Use a double rifle. It just feels better. Double Rifle Shooters Society

I hate to be a downer but does anyone else think this pricing puts Searcy in competition with older Brit guns where he won't fare so well? It has always seemed to me that Searcy's strength was in selling a higher volume of guns at 10-15K each.

Don't worry about me. In the last couple of years my average rifle is more than double what you have listed. And volume is what I don't want. Most people that complain about my rifle quality hasn't seen the latest rifles I'm producing now. And remember this if nothing else. No matter how good the quality of my rifles there will aways be prejudices against this mongrel colonial.

[QUOTE]No matter how good the quality of my rifles there will aways be prejudices against this mongrel, crotchety, ol' fart colonial.[/QUOTE Butch: please excuse the necessary additions. Two wake-ups and me and my Searcy .450 N.E. are out of here for Africa and elephants! JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

One thing Butch modestly omits: if you have an issue with one of his rifles, Priority Mail gets it to Boron, California lots faster than it does to London or France or Germany. Like the next day... Nobody stands behind their product line like Mr Searcy does either. Rich got one, working on getting another...
