IN THE AUGUST ISSUE OF AMERICAN RIFLEMAN THERE IS A QUOTE BY HARRY SELBY (ROBERT RUARKS PH ) ABOUT THIS 450/400 CALIBER.
I QUOTE
"IT IS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR ANY LADY HUNTER WHO MIGHT HANKER AFTER A DOUBLE RIFLE."
NUF SAID
I want a woman who comes with her own 450/400...

After reading the resurrected Capstick and 45-70 threads maybe we can start a new Cindy G thread. I think she comes with a double.
Tom,
I would dress like a woman just to have the opportunity to shoot that rifle. Anybody have any size 14 heels?

new_guyI think that is very chivalrous of Mr. Selby, and I agree.
We had less than 25-yards of follow-up on these two, and I can understand him thinking it would be rude to put a lady through an unnecessarily long walk.
It's not as much about what you hit them with as where it is you hit them.

Damn straight! Then we'd be a 450/400 double couple!
I guess when RCR gave Mark Selby that Jeffery in 450/400 he was in fact calling Mark a "Sissy Boy"?

N E 450 No2My wife used a 450/400 3 1/4" double for her cape buff.
One shot one kill.
I shot a cape buff, a lion, and a bull elephant with it as well.
I still felt "Manly" using it.

surestrikeHe's right it is a fine choice for a ladies double. That doesn't make it a poor choice for a man.

Jim ManionTom,
Harry obviously came to that conclusion after seeing the picture of you from your youth toting a 450/400 while wearing your open toed Pondoro pumps with matching rainbow safari ensemble from the John Taylor collection.
Do you still have that outfit?

Quite the retort coming from a guy who luxuriates in a pre-safari pedicure to allow him to hunt in birkenstocks.

RustyThere probably isn't a better double rifle for a woman. Where else can you find a double rifle throwing 400 grains down range that won't kick the shit out of you? Like N E 450 #2 said, his wfe shoot a 450/400 and I've seen her shoot it. Awesome!
Yep I'd have to agree with the Harry!
