Posting here before the reloading section. Has anyone tried reloading .410 pistol bullets? Thinking it would be a cheap alternative when "plinking" at the range but not sure of effects of using a handgun bullet in my double.

I'd think there's no harm in experimenting with them
to see if you can get them to regulate in your rifle.
It's something that I'll have to try too.

They do regulate, 75% rule etc (or close to).

I have see people use them and they told me what to get,
I just haven't had a chance to get some.

500N is right! start with the powder load used to regulate your normal weight bullet, then select a bullet that is. or is as close as you can get to 75% of the weight of you hunting bullet.

This is a starting point! Now, you can work up and down as needed to get final regulation for your so-called "PLINKING" load. In the 450/400NE 3 inch these 75% loads are fine wild hog, and deer loads as well as being good practice loads. IMO, the best "PRACTICE" one can come by is HUNTING!

They work real good in mine with 50 grains of 5744. I've killed several deer and pigs with them......and a rabbit. Recoil is negligible.

I use the 300gr Hornady .411 bullets designed for the 405 Winchester. They work perfectly with the same powder charge as the 400gr bullets and have regulated well in 4 different 450/400s.
In my .408 bore 450/400 I size them down in a Corbin sizing die but I'm not sure this is necessary.
