AFTER 100 PLUS ROUNDS I THINK ITS GOOD!!
The top 2 are CEB 900 solids using ADI2209 and filler
Middle 2 qre 900 Woodleigh softs with ADI 2213SC
Bottom 2 are 900 Woodleigh solids using the same ADI 2213SC LOAD

The velocity of the CEB are High 1900's with Woodleigh mid and low 1900's.
Left is left barrel and rights are right, except the 2 in bullseye which are a right left from the SN's.
the target was at 30m and I shot off sticks.

Good to go or what??
Cheers
Nick

Excellent Nick. Love those big concentric closely spaced holes. Now just focus on your weight training program to be able to carry that cannon.

[What is going on regarding a possible cull hunt? I have a new addition to the family (rifles that is) that might be fun for such a hunt. Wink]

Mike,
I ain't that bad weight wise!!! I think it will be fine, but I am doing some extra bench press and bicep curls just to be sure!

Mate , Harry and I are making some progress on the cull hunt, we are meeting some outfitters at next weeks shot show in Sydney. Will let you know what we come up with.

So do tell what's the new addition to the family???

When are you off to Zim? Must be any day now??

Cheers

Nick

We leave Tuesday evening. Pedza will never be the same again. Will be descending on camp like locusts.

I have found another H&H to keep my other H&H company.

Mike,
Very Classy addition indeed.

A pair of Hollands for some driven Tuskless in Dande !!
Indeed, I fear that the whole CM safaris operation may be very different once your group are finished with them in a fortnight or so!!!!

Good luck on your hunt, I wish we could set up a live blog of the campfire every evening, it would be priceless i'm sure!!

Good hunting and stay safe.

cheers

Morten,
The VC guys did a great job on the regulation of this one. I did specifically ask them to make sure it was spot on and they certainly delivered with this one.
Its certainly not "enjoyable" doing load development and general practice with these big calibre doubles, but I am very satisfied with the end results and feel confident in the gun and myself.

cheers mate,
hope you shoulder is feeling better, mine takes 2 days to recover from a session with the 600!!!!

Jorge,
When discussing the build , the regulation and ammo was a major
Item to be dealt with.
I wanted the gun basically shooting on bead or just above. I am not a fan of
6 o'clock hold.
Secondly was ammo. Not much to choose from in relation to factory 600.
The choice was of either Kynoch or WR. ( WOlfgang Romy)
On the advice of Jerome, we decided that Romy was the way to go, mainly
Because of availability in France and consistency in ammo.
They needed 50 -100 rnds to regulate .
My dilemma was that I can get neither here in OZ!
Load data wasn't forthcoming so I started from scratch using Graham wrights book
And the advice of fellow AR members CAL and CCMDOC.
I could only get Bertram brass locally, and powders were limited so it has been a challenge,
But I must say far easier than I originally thought!
My loads , I am now confident will do the job, with the added bonus of having 2 different loads of
Solids that shoot pretty much to point of aim .

Now if I had a little time on my hands I'd start playing with the CEB 820 grn raptors and a buffalo load!

I think I'll leave that till after my ele hunt in August.

Cheers

Nick

Thanks, Nick. Your response is precisely what I was looking for, availability of ammo/powdrs for that caliber. Although I had a much easier caliber to work with in my VC (450NE), it was fairly easy to go "outside the box" and experiment with good results. Thanks again and agood luck on your hunt!

Oh gracious no! Hell, right now all I can do is barely book my next hunt! I think when I do order another, I'll probably order a 375 H&H Flanged... Still a 600 does beckon... Smiler
