577NitroExpressSaw this photo on Johan Calitz's website...
This looks to me to be a black powder muzzel loader DR.
Anyone care to take a guess of the caliber? (I have no idea what it is, but it looks massive!)

PalmerInteresting photo. One would certainly want a couple of trustworthy gunbearers to carry that and the backup rifle.

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! Technically, I think you are supposed to source powder and percussion caps locally and not transport them in your luggage.

I've heard of guys taking loaded shells full of black powder. Then just pulling them apart at the destination.
If you took a few boxes of shot shells with nothing but BP in them, you could probably take enough. (would static charges on the hulls be an issue?)
Not sure about the caps.

PWSThese rifles appear in the hands of Bradley and Amy Martin on the cover of Calitz's 2005 brochure. No words as to the rifles.

MacD37You get the powder in by loading a wad on top of a full case of black powder in shot shells, and take a shotgun with you so the shot shells will be importable. You then break the shot shells down in camp, and put the powder in a large container or Horn, and the bullets in your possibles bag. Four or five boxes of 12 ga shot shells filled with BP will shoot a lot of game, and it is light so you can take a lot of shot shell full of nothing but BP in in your ammo weight limit!
