I love the old outside hammer side by sides. Does anyone still make exposed hammer double rifles or are my only options to sleeve an old shotgun or buy a century old double rifle?

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! Thanks guys! there are more than I thought. Not a lot of prices on those sites but I guess it is one of those, if you have to ask, you can't afford it....

But now that I know they are there I can keep watching for them to come up for sale in the used gun market!

Not true alot of Euro makers dont list prices on their sites take F.A.I.R shotguns they dont like prices and their shotguns start around 1,200 dont be afraid to send an email to ask for a price sometimes its alot more then expected and sometimes its alot less you'll never know until you ask around

I remember seeing a Italian maker some time ago offering a side by side double hammer gun for reasonable dollar (5,000-8,000 us) I'll have to look it up.

Some exceptionally good century old double rifles around and well worth buying.

Also, doesn't Famars make a SxS DR ? (Abbiatico & Salvinelli)

Didn't realise it had already been posted above.

These are superb quality guns when I last saw them in the flesh.

The VP of the company took one apart, the internals looked
as well finished as any English gun.

Mssgn: You have good taste, sir. Bon chance in your search for a hammer double.
That Siace is gorgeous.
I have handled the Pedersolis and they feel pretty nice.

Interesting on the Hambrusch how the hammers are recessed into the stock when cocked, so they can't snag on anything, and stay out of the sight picture. Elegant.

Looks neat but IMO, it is simply an opening that invites dust and debris to intrude into the lock works! Not a very efficient design in that respect! As you know simply because things look nice is no indication of a lack of problem with the design in it’s operation.

But I'm sure that the masters of Ferlach have something built in to prevent that problem. (I've seen the insides of the lock of a rifle from there and it's a work of art.) For a 'Best Quality' rifle I'm very sure that there won't be a problem.
