On all future Double Rifles ordered from B. Searcy & Co. there will be an accessory pack that will include an extra set of fireing pins, fireing pin springs, and a wrench to allow you to remove the fireing pin bushings for cleaning an if necessary replacing of the pin or spring. Also in this pack will be an extra set of main springs. Replacement of mainsprings is only authorized by a competent gunsmith. I will also have a Double Rifle Cleaning kit available very soon. On another note I'm taking orders for the PH Model again.

That is an excellent idea. Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com

If one owns a Searcy DBL rifle can we purchase an accessory pack? Does this require us to send our rifles back to you? Thanks

Good idea Butch. PH models again huh? Hmmm...Are you going to make them in your smaller action size?

Just curious, when Butch decided to stop taking orders for the PH model what was the reason and, why has he decided to again take orders for that model? Jack OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}

Butch: I ordered a Classic .577 a while back (5 or 6 months); it will probably not be delivered for 6 or 8 more months. Will an order such as this qualify for the accessory pack ? Thanks. ____________________________ .470 & 9.3X74R Chapuis' Tikka O/U 9.3X74R Searcy Classics 450/.400 3" & .577 C&H .375 2 1/2" Krieghoff .500 NE Member Dallas Safari Club

Hi Frank B., Have you ever shot Doc52's Searcy 577NE? Jack OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}

No, I've never shot his rifle ...... I did get to handle it last January in Dallas, but not shoot it. How does it shoot, and kick ? ____________________________ .470 & 9.3X74R Chapuis' Tikka O/U 9.3X74R Searcy Classics 450/.400 3" & .577 C&H .375 2 1/2" Krieghoff .500 NE Member Dallas Safari Club

It's a grand rifle to see isn't it? I was afforded the opportunity to shoot it and I did take the opportunity. It is a very powerful rifle and it inspires much confidence in the shooter so long as the shooter does not fear it. Recoil is honestly quite pronounced. But again, if one does not fear it, it is managable. I do not call it pleasant, but it was also not horrid. You must understand that you are going to take a big hit and that you must allow your body to move under it then recover for follow up shots. I've done it. I won't shoot that caliber again, but I will, given the chance, shoot a double 600 NE if it weighs at least 14 pounds. My newly acquired 450/400 makes me happy and gives me all the confidence that I need. It's a vintage Osborne. Jack OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}

I ordered the rifle, as much as anything, for the novelty of owning it. I'll shoot it, but probably not a lot. I considered a .500 NE, but already having a 450/.400 3" & a .470, I thought I'd try the .577. I've already accumulated 60 rounds of brass & about 200 Woodleigh bullets, so I'm probably set for life for shooting the big double. I do hope to shoot a buffalo or elephant before I get too old with the .577 ....... we'll see. ____________________________ .470 & 9.3X74R Chapuis' Tikka O/U 9.3X74R Searcy Classics 450/.400 3" & .577 C&H .375 2 1/2" Krieghoff .500 NE Member Dallas Safari Club

Have a good trip. I'll take my .41 cal DR and my .375 H&H bolt action when I go, when ever that is. Jack OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}

For each double rifle that I have built for myself, I have made up a spare set of pins, springs, and a wrench. They are always in the fitted case for that particular rifle. It would be a shame to be in "the back of beyond", have a pin or spring break, and be left with a single shot rifle for the rest of that hunt.

Doc's rifle is a beautiful rifle, and I've shot it. You certainly do not have to ask anyone if it went off, after you pull the trigger, but let's face it, it is a 577NE double rifle!
