What is the price for these guns with 26in barrels and color case with standard scroll engraving? Are they a good gun?

It is a BIG, WIDE, HEAVY Gun and suprisingly kicks only a little more than my 500 and is of course a GREAT gun, after all it is a Heym. Let us know what they are going for and maybe we could do a group buy. Owner of Many and Keeper of FEW

You're basically looking at $50K plus engraving (470, 500, 577, 600). Each caliber is built to scale. This is our "best grade" sidelock, with all the mechanical features you would/should expect on such a rifle. All options are dictated by the customer (stock, barrel length, etc,). Fit and finish (inside and out) are comparable to much more expensive rifles. You'll see a few next year at the shows that will knock your socks off.

Thanks for the info. What is the weight of the 470?

Sometimes under 10 pounds. If I could have one to exact weight ordered I would have it come in at 10 pounds 8 ounces for a 470 NE, 10 pounds even in 450/400 NE and for 500 NE 11 pounds. PONDORO wrote that 10/8 was fine for the 500 NE, but I think most guys want the extra 8 oz's. I shot a 577 NE at 13/8 and I'd NOT want a lighter one, even a pound heavier would be fine by me. 600 NE I've never shot, but to me I would think I'd want 14/8 at the very lightest and maybe even up to 16 even. Opinions vary. Jack OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}

Jack - I too have seen some "light" 470s, but the barrel contours were changed a couple of years ago and the weight is up on the 88B "PH" and "Safari" sized frames (the third largest frame.) As for the 88B "Jumbo" in question (the largest frame), a 470 will weigh about 11.5 pounds on this frame. It was designed for the 577 & 600.
