ROSCOEBad engraving will forever hurt the value of this rifle. Too bad because the scroll work looks good...rifle is a beauty....but the animal scenes are some of the worst I have ever seen. The buffalo is the worst...look at the face and the feet....

577NitroExpressAs someone who has purchased a Searcy, I can attest to the fact that when you use Butch's standard engraving for rose and scroll, the metal cutting is very nice.
When you want animal scenes engraved, you have your choice of engravers. Butch does not stipulate which engravers you used.
The engraving on the gun should NOT have any bearing on people's opinions on Butch's products, but rather on the client's choice of engravers.

Absolutely, Butch makes gorgeous guns. This one has been "custom engraved" outside of Butch's control and probably haunts his dreams at night.
