I find that trimming cases in front of the TV is a relaxing way to get the job done. Always used the Lee trimmer. I think that RCBS makes a similar tool. I move them from one end table to another while trimming and watching the tube. So I am thinking of joining the society, and will the 45/70 shell holder fit the 450 nitro, even with a little Dremmel work? Anything even close to the 470 or 500 nitro?

The rim is much more thick on the .45-70 and the .450 NE or bpe is a thin .030. It may work as the diameter is close, but will be a bit wobbly. The .470 is the same rim as the .500; both are much larger than the .450 or .45-70. When loading for the 455 Webley which has a thin rim and using the shell holder for the thicker rimmed 303 British case I just cut a shim with a hole in the centre which sat in the shell holder under the rim of the Webley cases. This worked a treat and supported the cases well during the sizing process. Just got to be sure with thin rims to use a good lube as you do not want any stickiness when resizing and extracting cases from the F/L die or the rims can distort or pull off in the extreme.

Not just the difference in rim thickness, the base of the 450NE is quite a bit wider than the 45-70 too, so the answer is 'NO' from that perspective alone.
