Well guys I made some good progress today. The weather is still cold but I had to get out an experiment again. Today I changed both bullets and powder and as you can see...found a good load. Attached are the photos of the targets. All shots were taken at 50 Yards.

Target 1 66g H4831SC and 286g Woodleigh PSP
I hit the Target Holder with the second shot which caused the bullet to explode and make a big hole in the paper.

Target 2 67g H4831SC and 286g Woodleigh PSP. I think the last shot low was my fault.

Target 3 68g H4831SC and 286g Woodleigh PSP

I also shot a group of 69g and the load crossed with little or no increase in velocity.

The Chapuis seems to like the Woodleigh bullets better than the Nosler. I have other types of bullets on order and will report test results once I get them loaded. I will also do some 100 yard tests with the 68g load seen above.

Roscoe,
Your the man! I been trying for two months to lay in a big supply of the 286 gr "seconds" Partitions but am glad I failed. After following posts for this rifle the Woodleighs seem to offer better accuracy.

I will try the Partitions with this load to see how well they group. I was able to get about 1.5" groups with the IMR 4831 load on my first range report so I believe there is still potential for them. I bought 500 of the seconds so I would like to use them too.

I will also do some 100 yard tests with the 68g load seen above.

The above load is a perfect load for this rifle, IMO! GOOD SHOW, Mate.

Chapius 9,3x74R doubles are shot and regulated with Norma 286 grain Oryx bullet (if not specially ordered with another load) which is a "softer" version of the Woodleigh, perfect for northern hemisphere game.

Nice load development work and nice shooting, too. Are you going to try some 286 grain Woodleigh solids now?

Right now I don't have any solids on order but I may try some in the future. I hope to shoot again tomorrow to test the Nosler Partition again along with the PRVI bullets I bought from Graf. I also want to see what the groups look like at 100. I may get some solids to play with along with some NF Cup points....I hope the cup points will shoot well...I have had great luck with them in my 470. I will add another range report once additional testing is complete.

Roscoe, I don't know what people are cheering about, you haven't hit the quarter yet!!! Let me know what loads you develop for your PRVI bullets. I have a 9.3x74R in a Tikka 512 and I have just bought some of those bullets myself. If you have some Nosler 286 PT seconds, how abourt selling me some? I am waiting for them to become available again.
Peter.
