I am refitting an old hard rifle case to my 4-bore single and I need a leather strap to secure around the stock "wrist". I have looked all over the internet to no avail. I know exactly what I am looking for (have them inside my other cases, but cannot find them in the web.
Can anyone point me to a supplier of these straps for gun cases?

Thanks from a "snow bound" guy at West Point

Warning.....

I bought a clip on sling from Jeff's Outfitters which wound up costing me a new stock on my double rifle. This sling was the cheapest piece of crap you could imagine.

I clipped it onto the rifle and put it on my shoulder within 2 seconds the POS soft made in Mexico rivets pulled loose from the forend attachment and sent my rifle clattering to the floor. A week later I discovered a crack all the way around my pistol grip just aft of the tang.

In any case I won't do business with a company that sells cheap made in Mexico leather ware not fit for a barbie doll set and advertises it for use on real life expensive rifles.

Y'all be careful.

surestrike, I had similar experience, when I bought a sling from J. Outfitters, that was supposed to be 1.5 inches wide, according to catalog, but it turned out to be more like 1.25 inches wide, so maybe they use a different measuring system in that part of the country. I intended to buy a leather double rifle case from them, but not now, and I will never buy much, if anything, from them again. If you can't depend on their catalog information, what can you depend on?

Try any tack shop for western or English. Or try Tandy leather and make your own. Should be a fun project and easy.

Sorry to hear about those failures!

As a rule, I only buy from companies that actually make their own goods / have complete control over their production. Or, dealers that sell those brands.

Makes for a better product at a better price when you consider the quality aspect and the service:

Galco
Murray Custom Leather
Russell Moccasin
RED OXX
Turner Saddelry
Texas Hunt Co.
Sporting Wood Creations

Nobody is perfect, that's a given, but these companies have an excellent track record, make their own stuff and if a problem should arise, they pick up the phone and get you taken care of.

Just my .02,

JW

OK guys... just to close out this discussion. I brought my used case to Mike Messina on Long Island to get it re-fitted for my 4-bore single. What a gentleman I found in Mike!!! He is a great guy and has an interesting shop. He certainly is THE GUY to go to for repairing and refurbishing gun cases. He does all the fun case work for Holand & Holland and Griffin & Howe in the NY area. Thanks for making me aware of this fine craftsman.

Regards,
LLR
