Interesting the way the shooter held the rifle while he was regulating it, have always been told you need to have your hand between the barrels and the rest.

Interesting that the regulator was left handed and regulating right handed rifles and also patterning right cast shotguns??????
That strikes me as most odd.

I gather from reading the replies to this post that most, if not all of you, do not know that this brief video was made from the original long play 2006 video "A Look Inside Holland & Holland" that was produced and sold by "Gunmakersrow.co.uk". It is (and still is) about 1 hour view of all the various gun/rifle making workshops within the Holland & Holland facility. You can still buy this most excellent video via the web from Gunmakersrow.co.uk for about 25.00 UK pounds sterling mailed to your home. I highly recommend it's purchase and you will learn things that you never knew about double rifles and double guns. I have had my copy since 2007 and I still watch some or all of it every year.

One area that you will view is the actual technique demonstrated by Steve Cranston (the left-handed craftsman in the short video you watched)as he regulates Holland rifles. He shows you how he heats the barrels, moves the regulating wedge and re-solders the barrels. Steve is considered one of the best in the world on regulating double rifles as well as boring shotgun chokes to shoot to point of impact required and shot spread. He is about to retire, or maybe he has by now. The next time you are in UK go by the Holland shooting grounds and see if you can meet Steve, as his little shop is there.

Truly gives you an idea of what it takes to be considered a "best gun"!

Really shows there's still a place for manual labor & true craftsmanship, even

in today's high tech world!

Thanks for posting, awesome video

Sure puts American gun making, of ANY era, to shame. I'm glad I sold my Winchesters 20+ years ago.

You just "made your day" in about 2-weeks time.

We will have to wait for your reaction to the video.
