Anybody ever have a .360 2 1/4 DR???

Went to see an old Friend today that used to be a part owner of Purdy and a good friend of Peter Chapman's. He showed me the last DR he owned (although he has plenty of Purdy and Boss shotguns). It was a Boss .360 2 1/4 made for a maharaja of India. It was certainly a "best gun"!!!

Great cartridge for deer, etc., like a .38-55. Black, nitro for black, and nitro loads were available.

I have a Westley Richards Drop lock in that calibre and a William Horton Boxlock 360 2 7/16th, a rare calibre but not too far from
the 2 1/4".

The Boss sounds nice.

I have a double hammer rifle with Jones underlever, made in B'ham but sold in Cork, Ireland about 1870. Plus a single hammer gun made by Alex. Henry - it had a new barrel by them in 1882. Nice cartridge to load and shoot.
