Well,

I have a 470 field grade Searcy on order. I have begun rat holing all the necessary supplies.

So far I picked up RCBS dies and shell holder,
I got a pile of once fired brass dancing

I know where I can order bullets.....

BUT where do you guys get bore brushes for a 470 NE ?????????

I have tried Midway USA and Brownell's but could find nothing.

THANKS! Cool

A .458 Bore Snake works pretty well too.

You will have to purchase the rod as well due to different thread setup unless you can come up with an adapter, its good gear!

Why not use a 50 cal brush? It's only 26 thousandths oversize.. that's not much.

THAT IS A GOOD QUESTION....

I think that is exactly what I am going to do.

I like Keith's stuff but that may be the more practical solution.

Thanks

Honkey,
Trader Keith's has brushes, jags, and the adapters for standard thread rods(I use Dewey), you need to clean properly. They are not that expensive, when you consider the price of your rifle.

I use 50 cal brushes, new one's if need be but any worn 50 cal brushes get used for my 465's / 470's.

50 cal Nylon Brushes can be used as they are because the bristles are so much more flexible.

Honkey:

I ran into exactly the same problem. At the suggestion of another AR member, I bought a 3 pack of .475/.480 Ruger pistol brushes from Brownells. They work great and will, most probably, fit on your existing cleaning rod.

Why not shotgun brushes? I use a 28 gauge brush for .458 caliber rifles.

Use a double rifle. It just feels better.
