This seems like one of the stranger chamberings:

Will this really eject reliably?

That indeed is a strange chambering ?

I'm sure H&H would get it to work.

I have seen a WR droplock double made in 500 Jeffries at the factory recently,
so it can be done but I a
Still ask why??.

Cheers

Many years ago I was a vintage double in .425 WR.

I imagine an extractor double will work with some fine tuning but I would be hesitant of an ejector double with a rebated rim.

A friend had a WR Drop-lock in this caliber with extra locks and a case of Kynoch ammo. It was unfired.

plus one??????? I wouldn't buy a rifle of any configuration that was chambered for a rebated cartridge, and certainly not a double rifle.

I would cherish the idea of looking old Dagga boy or Simba in the eye with a rimless double..I played with a friends 458 Double that he had trouble with the extractor jumping the case head (no rim) I couldn't fix it and didn't even try, I have a close friend who has a 450-3.25 Francott converted from a .458 and its and awesome rifle. Id love to own that one.

Bottom line I wouldn't even consider hunting DG with a double in any rimless caliber..

I would love to own and use an original WR in a a 425 WR and their bolt Mauser with the side clips that make feeding ever so nice..I had one that had (unfortunately) been converted to a .458 and it was an awesome rifle. I rebuilt it and gave it back to a friend of mine who actually gave it to me to start with..

I would love to have a double in a 250-3000 for deer hunting and I am going to use one this year that belongs to a friend of mine...Its just plain neat.
