Been looking, but cannot find anyone that loads this thing nowadays. Anyone have any idea what bullet weight was standard, and also, the velocity? Oh, by the way, been using 45-100 2.6" sharps brass. Fits chambers perfectly. Makes me wonder if those on the other side of the pond just re-named this cartridge. Rockrat, There was a thread on this subject just days ago, but I do not remember which forum it was. You could likely locate it with a little work with Google. NRA Life Benefactor Member, DRSS, DWWC, Whittington Center,Android Reloading Ballistics App at http://www.xplat.net/

I'm sure it's loaded up alot from the Sharps BP loads. Have you checked the twist yet? NRA Life ASSRA Life DRSS Today's Quote: Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Twist is 1 in 20". Standard .45/70 pressure is 2200 BAR. Standard for .45/70 Elko Mag is 2950 BAR, same as .450 Nitro Express. -------------------------------------------- "Serious rifles have two barrels, everything else just burns gunpowder."
