I am sure there are some who will call this question ridiculous......Has there ever been a rimfire double rifle? I think a 22 magnum double would be cute as a spotted pup in a little red wagon.....and I would buy one!!

They are not general favorites for regular

I have seen a couple of centerfire .22 cal. doubles. I believe one was a .22 Hornet. But I don't remember the make or even when it was made.

Famars recently made two. Both round-bodied Excalibur O/Us with sets of 410 and 22lr barrels on frames sized for the 410s. One gun with colour hardening and gold inlays, the other with fantasy engraving. Very nice guns, the 22 barrels shot better than 1 1/2" at 50 yards with iron sights. Probably would have done better with better eyes.

RATS! You just can't hide! I got to watch them machining the action and the monoblocks for the gun. The cool part was the fact (think about it) that the rifle barrels have to be offset from the normal center-fire positioning to accomodate rimfire cartridges. They hadn't done that before and you can imagine how happy all concerned were whan the positioning came out just right. Famars is a great example of how fine guns can be made these days. The ground floor had digital machining and spark erosion. The first floor has lots of files and some simple lathes. Together, the results are very nice indeed.

Does anybody remember the tiny little double in 17 HMR at the SCI show RIGHT after the cartridge was introduced? It was really cute. It was in the white and I wanna say McKay-Brown was doing it but I don't recall for sure.

My friend Geoerge Hoenig has built at least 2 17 HMR's in his Rotary Round action rifle. Pretty damn neat if you ask me.
