I am thinking about selling my 450-400 3 1/4" Boswell (again) and am curious as to what the market value would be. My hope are with the accessories around $16,000

It is circa 1907, in good shape, rifling is fine, was bought through Champlin's by me in 2009.

I have plenty of brass, some bullets, two sets of dies, and a leather covered hard case to go with it.

No cheek piece, neutral cast, I shoot it fine as a left hander. It is an extractor gun.

I do not need to sell it, just thinking about.

What do you feel it is worth.

The action strongly resembles the actions made in Suhl, Germany, but the angle and scroll engraving make it impossible for me to tell if has the Greener Crossbolt common to Suhl actions. Guns with those Suhl actions were very strong and seem to wear well.
Nice gun and best wishes in getting a good price when you do sell it.

The double gun market is down, and may not return, due to a number of reasons, Covid for one, but todays sportsmen or shooters are more into plastic and stainless steel, its a trend Ive certainly noticed and from talking to all my friends in the business and of course those with the guns are the last to face such situations, just my two bits..

I would hold on to one and try and wait this out, but its a gamble either way IMO..I am sure the market is down however, no doubt about that, the question is will it return..

The market hit its high in 2014. A small rebound is showing but nothing substantial and nothing promising for the future.
What is the weight of your rifle? LOP?
Also, if you have two sets of dies, would you be wiling to sell one set? I ask as a mate in South Africa is buying my .450-400 3 1/4 and needs a set of dies.
Cheers,
Cal
