If it's the one at Westley I think it's a clunker. Be sure to have someone qualified check it out

I ordered mine at Vegas about 10 years ago. picked the engraver and all other things.

It is a 8x57IRS, as it is my Elk rifle and sometimes whitetail rifle.

Quality is most excellent. I know there are folks that don't care for Belgian rifles. I have Boss, Purdey, Westley and others.

I really like my Belgian rifles though. have the 8mm and a fine 450 sidelock Belgian double.

Take the rifle on it's merits, not the name!!!!!!!

I hope these photos, or links work. I am not really good with the computer.

Mr. Baker,
Thats a fine lookin rifle, I to like belgium rifles, I have a Schilling in 500 NE, very solid,
I have always thought the Germans, Austrians, and Belgiums to be some of the best craftsmen in the world.

J McD & M Baker,

Shilling is Ferlach, Austria based, right? I'd expect a rifle could be a

fine piece of work from where ever it was made. I believe what IS very

important is to have the weight distributed in the U.K. pattern of 50%

between the hands, 25% from trigger hand back to the end of the butt

pad, and 25% from forward hand to muzzles.

BigFiveJack,
My Schilling 500 NE is from Zella-Mehlis, Germany. it has been a superbly accurate, dependable, perfectly functioning rifle, now if I can just figure out this safari thing maybe Ill be fortunate enough to use it on a nice buffalo soon.
I absolutely 100% agree w/ You on the english doubles, I have a nice little Rodda hammer rifle in 303 British, I cant imagine how a double rifle could be made any more elegant, quick pointing, and accurate, yet solid as a vault door.
It is a true testament of old world craftsmanship. I feel truly honored to own and shoot it.
