EAA Model SAB92SF Double Rifles
I've actually been considering the 9.3X74R I just don't know enough about it.
And lets be realistic here. I would love to be able to cater to my tastes in rifles but my position on the food chain limits such catering to a few grand being thrown a rifle. A double would certainly be they most expensive firearm i would own And I sure would like it NOT to be the most expensive to shoot

A 9,3x74R is a most excellent calibre.

Research some of my previous posts.

I have used one quite a bit, on small game and varmints, deer wild pigs, black bear, up through plains game including giraffe and on cape buff and elephant.

From the Cdn. distributor:

Sabatti first promised us these large calibers for early spring 2009…but they keep getting delayed. We were last told that they will be ready by September.

I do not know the retail pricing as we do not have our costing yet.

Yes they can do single or double triggers on any double rifles.

What NE 450 #2 said, plus one!
If I had a 9,3x74 and a 470/500NE 3" I could hunt and die a happy man.

Well, to me, it is good to see big bore DRs that do not cost five figures. However, I would rather have one with no "engraving",CC would vbe fine with me.

That's very interesting.

Maybe, (big maybe) if the engraved ones sell well they would expand the product lineup even more and sell the non engraved ones.

I'm definitely glad to see a big bore double that is at least within a comprehensible price range for a young person like myself. Still way out of my price range, but at least the day when I can afford one doesn't look quite so distant.

9.3 x 74R is the most popular round for European Hunting.

What in Europe needs 450/400 ? (Apart from the fun of using it !!!)

hi mate
DR is made for fun shooting Big Grin . i have as many as 9 rifles and shotguns at home. i use them more shooting for fun than hunting Smileri have 375 H&H rifle which is like an improved 9,3x74R . those low prices gave me itch Big Grin to have a double too. by the way we have a great population of bears here in sweden only last year two hunters were killed by bear!! a double in 450/400 will be great for close combat with bears and will konck a bear out of his claws Wink
cheers

I will be very interested in one of these rifles, however, the one thing to be concerned about will be the demand, and if the rifles are in short supply, the price will definitely sky-rocket

Had a close look at those rifles at IWA 2009.
Seems to be well made, BUT I hate that cheapy machine made engraving, just too much!

Look at that stupid top-lever with an animal. Is it a crocodile, a dog or what??

Sabatti should make a non engraved case hardened version, that would sell if the rifles shoots well after some hundred rounds.

Just my humble opinion bewildered

Here is probably, I hope, a VERY dumb question about this. Has anyone thought to ask if these are shotgun conversions? They do carry a line of SxS shotguns and it just could account for the price.

And btw I once had a Browning SxS shotgun with a single non-selective trigger. They since switched to the inertia type trigger with a selector button. One barrel always fired first and got the lion's share of the work and the stiff feel of the mechanical action involved for the second shot was just never to my liking. You had to fully release the trigger so it could move forward to activate the second shot. It was one of the reasons I tired of it and eventually sold it. That may or may not apply here..

I too noticed these are not on their own web-site. It's in Italian and English but I didn't see it on either.

p.s. - you do get the stock dimensions of your choice with these I assume...and intercepting sears and articulated front trigger..and the low prices are not going to be just temporary..and there's a long term warranty and plenty of repair and maintenance support, right?

Sabatti side by sides in continental calibers (7X65R, 8X57JRS, and 9.3X74R) have been on the French market for years and not on the company website all this time.

I could see going with a 9.3 or less-sized round in a Sabatti because they have years experience in making them. But I am personally leary of going with a product that is inexpensive, from a firm reputed to have quality control issues, and much more powerful than their current lineup. Doubly so when the firm either has no idea what it is doing or hoping I have no idea what it is doing: single trigger, overdone "engraving", extremely powerful rimless cartridges like .416 Rigby, the possibility that ammunition costs would make a significant percentage of the wholesale price IF it were regulated correctly, et cetera.
