Don, I will be there but by that time, I will not own a double. Lets find a way to meet up and see who else is there. email me directly at larry_burgin@yahoo.com or 980-328-0204. I know Deep River very well from living here years ago.

I will probably ride down on Saturday to try to sell a gun and look at then vendors wares.

I have never had the good fortune to shoot a double. I would love the opportunity if someone would let me have a go. I can bring a few water jugs and cash for ammo!

I'm in Raleigh and would be glad to give an folks traveling advice on the area.

Thanks,
QD

Hello QD, water jugs, yes. Cash for ammo, not necessary. Those who have attended can attest that this is a fun shoot. If you would like to shoot my (or others) guns, just ask. We are most happy to share. Unless I decide to chase Rockfish on the Chesapeake Bay, I will be there Thursday PM till Saturday AM. Hopefully I'll see y'all there. tu2

I'll be there Friday looking over the double rifles for sale. Sure would enjoy the chance to shoot a few and like QD I'll pay for ammo. (I'll see if I can find some water jugs too!)

Hope to see some of y'all there.

We are all packed and ready to go tomorrow mng.

I've got about 20 English doubles to play with if anyone wants to join in they are welcome. The 500/450 bp double hammer rifle is packed and ready to be shot.

Swing by the exhibitors tent and we can take some stuff out to shoot.

I will be there all day Saturday. I have sold my DR so I guess I will be a bum and shoot some others. Look forward to meeting you all. Seems Fallow Bucks stand may be a good place for us all to connect. I suggest noon on Saturday unless we have met before.

See you there,
Larry

Hey guys

Dig and I are set up in the exhibitors tent. There is a banner for Joseph's behind our table. If it works for you guys I'm happy to aim for noon on Saturday and take some guns out to shoot.

Hi Guys:

I hope everybody that attended enjoyed themselves and shot as many charging water jugs as possible.

Daughter decided to take it sick which necessitated having to take here to the doctor, speak of the unforeseen. Needless to say missed the only day I could make it. Well I hope I can make it next time.

Good luck to those who made it, and see you next event God willing.

Best regards

Hi all

We got back to Houston (or Youston depending on where you live!!) this afternoon in time for some Mexican food and a cigar. I'm flying back to the UK tomorrow for a couple days and then off again.

I just wanted to say a huge thanks to all the guys at the double rifle pitch for their hospitality and generosity with their guns and ammo. It was a heap of fun and will feature more in my journey next year.

I took a heap of videos and pictures which I will compile into a short film time allowing this week between trips.

I might even have the footage of Roscoe punching himself in the nose with the 500NE. Wink

Thanks to all the guys that came past to visit us at the booth. It's great to put some faces to the names.

Kiri, you are supposed to remember the good and forget the bad! That stands as a lesson of what it's like to shoot somebody else's rifle that's way too short. Ouch!

It was a pleasure to meet you at Deep River and to share the shooting event. I'm happy to say the two Purdey rifles I brought were very well behaved. No punches to the nose and plenty of hits on target.

I hope to see you next year.

Roscoe

Kiri, My son Matt made it there on Sunday and did some shooting with Corbin and a few other gentlemen. Shot a couple vintage single shots one with an interesting Sneider (sp?) action. Definately not one for speed shooting.
Said there were 30 some shooters and observers Saturday.
I missed being there was with my father in law on his 87th birthday.

I sure missed being there with you guys this year. Unfortunately, after last year's debacle, I booked a fishing trip to Guatemala for the same time period, with three friends from Rhode Island. However, we stayed in a millionaire's villa, caught sailfish until our arms ached, and stood in the pool after a days' fishing, mellowing out on Cuba libres, made with some of the excellent local rum. Shall we just say that it was not time wasted.

"The Lord does not deduct from man's allotted time on earth, those hours spent fishing" !!!

Roscoe, I was just relieved that I wasn't the only one to do it!!

Mike, I didn't see Matt on Sunday, as we had a run on the booth and couldn't get away. Hopefully we'll see you both next year.

It looks like we will be organising a double gun shoot in October at the American Shooting centre in Houston. It would probably be prudent to follow the shoot with some ribs...

Rgds,
K
