OK guys, here are some pics of the VC PH Round Body. The only camera I had today is my IPhone and the lighting was not great. The pics don't do it 10% justice.

Nice enough photos even if its from an i Phone. Thanks for posting. Better than the ones I was referring to up on the VC profile in Facebook in a related thread. I needed to see these photos to finalize my decision for my first double. I think I prefer the original one but will wait untl SCI in Reno next year to decide.

Something tells me you will change your mind when you see it in person. As said, the pics don't do it 10% justice. These pics are really not good. Probably the biggest thing is how it feels in the hand compared to the original.

I think I like the original with the “moustache” type reinforced side ribes and teardrops better as well but they are both very nice looking. Are the round body doubles cheaper?

Dave, Ken told me that was their least-expensive action.

I think I like the round body for smaller big-bore calibers like 375 and 450/400 while I prefer the moustache-bolstered action for the bigger big bores.

The gun feels really good. Perfectly balanced. When I pointed it at something , it was spot on with perfect alignment every time.H

Guess I should have asked BEFORE I bought one ! but can anyone answer why this particular frame is not bolstered as are others/pervious models ?

Not that I have any concerns as a company such as V.C would not put out a rifle that wasn't 100%, curious, is all.

Thanks in advance,

Paul.

Paul,
They properly feel that their quality steel and locking mechanism supersedes the need for extra strengthening of the frame. I guess we will see in about twenty years, particularly in calibres like the hard hitting 500 Roll Eyes .

The original is still available, it is your gun, so it is your choice

The width of the frame at the top of the water table on both the original and the round body are the same, so the strength is the same.
