living about 5 miles away from the big cabellas store in minnesota can and is dangerous. Just passing through (with no intentions whatsoever) i notice a really pretty franz sodia O/U in 300 H&H with claw mounts and all the niceties just sitting lonely on the rack. Now I probably need another double like a hole in the head (i think there's 9 or 10 in the rack now), but this thing is so pretty and looks so lonely that I was just forced into lining up 14 or 15 other guns that needed trading off anyway and going back to see bill taylor again. so after some horse trading (which I'm really poor at especially when this double was looking so lonely) I bring back home one franz sodia 300 H&H. I suppose I'm aging myself again, but I always remember the 300 H&H being sort of a standard caliber. Not anymore. I found dies, brass etc. but it took some looking. Now I have to find out what the regulation load is. I'm guessing either 180's or 220's for bullets. Anybody got any bright ideas. By the way the little double is very happy again with its new family.

I live 3 1/2 hours from that store and Bill's guns still draw me there way too many times each year. (In-laws only live 20 miles from there so it's not so bad visiting them.)

Bill Taylor is a real stand up guy to deal with and always has some interesting guns on the shelves. More so than the Rogers store which is about 1 1/2 hours closer to my home.

Need to get a truck with metter MPG or borrow my buddy's plane to get there more quickly when the urge hits.
