What other options are availabe in addition to the Recknagel mounts?

What would be involved in mounting something like the very small Dr Optic site which isn't much larger than a silver dollar on edge?

I replaced the removable blocks in the rib of mine with repalcement pieces cut from a Ruger 1/4 Rib then used Ruger rings. Worked perfectly and looked fine. Kept the same hole spacing on the new bases so I could easily return to original configuration.

DB Bill!

Do you have a factory installed base for swingmounts?

If so there is a company in Germany called Kilic Feintechnik and they have a gadget called MAKlick.
It fits in most bases for swingmounts and I´ve been thinking about getting one of those and have the new Aimpoint Micro attached to it.
Then I can switch between Aimpoint and scope in seconds on my Krieghoff Classic.

You can mount Docter sights as well as Aimpoint and others.

Here´s the link: http://www.kilic-feintechnik.de
There is a catalog i PDF format.

This gadget is real neat and Kilic makes a lot of nice mounts for different types of firearms!

Regards

Jim

DB Bill, this is NE450No2 on AKshooter's computer. I have a Chapuis 9,3x74R.
The factory pivot mounts work perfect.

I have a Swarovski 1.5-6 with the illuminated circle dot reticle, and a Leupold 2.5-8 with the heavy duplex, both in rings sighted in ready to go.

They also have factory claw mounts.

I put a Kahles CSX 1.1X4 on my Chapuis. Very nice. It will require high mounts.

Jimbo#1,
Thanks for the reference to Kilic mounts. I have a Merkel 141 I am trying to scope and cannot get ANY response from GSI on mounts other than they will custom install claw mounts. The rifle seems to be set up for mounts and Kilic is the first company that seems to make installable mounts. They have a terrific selection. I have emailed them and hopefully they will supply me with the proper mount which I can then install. Again thanks for the info.
